Craftsman LTS 1500 17.5 HP/42" Lawn Tractor

This is a tractor I would recommend for anyone.

I purchased this fine tractor September 19th. I had it set for home delivery because I did not want to assemble it. It came totally assembled and ready for use saving me the trouble of having to assemble it myself. I added fluids and it was ready to go.

I put the key in it started immediately. I have have a very large yard with some challenging areas to mow as the yard tends to be rocky. So far I haven't had any problems with it hitting any rocks. The engine is fine and hums nicely. I am able to adjust the blade height on the fly for the varying conditions in my yard.

One can engage the blade in reverse which is a very useful feature. I have used the tractor for quite a while now and it never bogs. It is simple and efficient and a joy to use. This is not my first tractor but it is my favorite. The turing ratio is quite small for the size of the tractor. Maintenance is a snap with the easy to reach drain plug. The large diameter tires make the tractor a real mover and seem not to get stuck easily.

The tractor has creature comforts like a cup holder. With its soft seat it is a joy to ride and operate and makes one look forward to the “chore” of mowing the grass. Its speeds are sufficient to quickly make short work of most lawns. My lawn is more than 3 acres and this tractor just sails through it in no time. The suspension of the tractor rivals models much more expensive and at no time did I feel as if the tractor was unstable. The ride quality is among the best I have ever experienced.

Given the quality of Craftsman, the ease of maintenance, and the fine performance abilities of this tractor, I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone needed a good quality reliable riding lawn mower.

My tractor will NOT mow in reverse and the belt keeps slipping off every time I disengage the mower.I have replaced the belt and the blades and it is driving me crazy. The mower is less than 3 years old and I clean it off after every use and can not figure out why the belt keeps slipping off.It appears to be at least 3 inches too long.I have measuered it and checked everything I can think off.The mower is cursed.

I don't know what world you are living in but you must have never owned a lawn tractor before. I also purchased a new LT1500 and is the worst lawn tractor that I have ever owned. The controls are located in inconvenient locations and you CANNOT MOW IN REVERSE. That is a horrible feature and I am searching hard to figure out how to bypass this "safety" feature. Probably have to make it for the same idiot that sues because McDonalds coffee is too hot when you spill it on yourself!!!!
