Craftsman Rear Propelled Rear Bag Lawn Mower with Key Start
My Craftsman Rear Propelled Rear Bag Lawn Mower with Key Start worked great when we first purchased it. It has a 775 Platinum Series Briggs & Stratton Engine, which is considered excellent for lawn mowers. I didn’t have any problem the first year, but the second year I started having problems with starting it.
Once I obtain tune-ups, it starts just fine, but you have to be willing to take it in for tune-ups to keep it running regularly. I really do love the key start feature. I always had so many problems in the past with the traditional pull cord type lawn mower. It seemed I could never get them started, and I would have to run and get my husband to come help.
I don’t have to do that with this mower, I can start it up anytime I wish. It is really a convenient mower for women (and men, too). It has a 21” cutting deck, which is really nice! It cuts down on the mowing time because the cut range is so wide.
I use it to cut almost two acres and it really takes time off the time I used to spend mowing on my old mower because of the increased width. The mower performs bagging and mulching, or you can simply use the side discharge, if you wish, by easily removing the catcher bag. I have used my mower both with and without the catcher bag, depending upon whether I want to stop and empty the bag.
It gets a little heavy to push for me when the bag fills up. I have to empty the bag before it is full to keep from getting exhausted pushing the mower. Someone stronger than me might now have this problem, though. I would probably recommend this mower to my friends, because it works great when tuned up. I would just let them know that it requires frequent tune ups.
