Maytag MDB2400AWE

I have a dishwasher that is over 10 years old. It is Maytag MDB2400AWE. I did not purchase it. It came with the new house in 1998. I am not sure if it still exists in the market.

We do not use dishwasher very. Whenever we have friends over and lots of dirt dishes were generated, we would use it. It is not a big one but if you load it right, it can hold lots of dishes. There are three different settings: super scrub, temp boost, and heated dry.

I am not sure how good it is since sometimes the dishes come out shining. Sometimes we got lots of dirt dishes out of it. It takes a long time for the dishwasher to do its job. Some of my dishes do get chipped even though they are labeled dishwasher safe. I guess the machine is too harsh for the plates. The part I do not like the most is that it makes very loud noise. It is kind of hard to have a conversation in the kitchen while it is running. Besides, since it is at least 10 years old, I do not think it is energy efficient.

Since I really do not use dishwasher that often and it gets the job done most of the time, I do not need to replace it. However, if I do need to get a new one, I would like one that is quieter and energy efficient. This is the first and only dishwasher I have owned so I would not know how the others perform. There will be lots of study to do before I purchase another one.
