My family has had this mower about ten or eleven years now. It is still going strong. We bought it from Wal-Mart for about eight hundred dollars. The only repairs we have ever had to do to it is change the blades on it or a pulley. Every once in a while we would have to level the deck on it, too. It has cut plenty of glass in its lifespan.
The bad thing about it is that it is cutting grass better than our other Cub Cadet lawn mower and it is only three years old. Also, the Cub Cadet mower is twenty one horses, and the Murray is only sixteen and a half horses. Most of the time we all prefer to use the Murray mower just because it is so easy to use. All the other new lawn mowers have too many controls on them, but this one is quite simple to use.
Every once in a while the deck will clog up with grass but it is nothing that can not be fixed. It is the most dependable mower we have ever had, and it is also one of the oldest. If the deck span would be a little wider it would be great. That is about the only advantage the Cub Cadet has on it. I would not get rid of our Murray mower for anything.
I really do not know how it has made it as far as it has considering what my family puts it through. I believe it is the best mower I will ever come across.
