Scott's S2554 25 HP, 54 in Deck

I have a yard that's about five acres of lawn to mow. I purchased the Scotts S2554 from Home Depot a few years ago, and I love it! It features a 25 Kohler motor, which give you the power to cut fast, and cut longer lengths with ease. I went with the Scotts because its made by John Deere, a very reputable name. The model I bought comes equipped with a 54 inch mowing deck, which makes mowing five acres of lawn easier than most mowers. Also, my yard is littered with rows of trees. The Scotts S2554 does very well with that as well! It corners very tight for a tractor style mower, making it easy to weave in and out of the rows of trees. I also have a spot in my yard that is large and open, this is where the Scotts S2554 speed comes in handy. By cutting my lawn in an straight oval pattern, I am able to cut it very quickly and effectively.
The mowing deck is fairly easy to take off the tractor for cleaning, Just pop the belt tensioner loose (spring loaded), then pull the two clips that hold the deck to the tractor portion out, and it slides out. The cup holder on the mower is a cool feature that I wasn't used to when I bought the mower, I live in Michigan, and while we are known for our cold winters, it get very hot here during the Summer months, and theres nothing like an ice cold lemonade at your side while mowing a big yard. It makes for fewer stops to hydrate while mowing in the summer heat.
The tires on my mower are very wide turf tires, even when cornering at high speeds they do no damage to my lawn, which is a plus, because I like to mow just about as fast as I possibly can!
One thing I don't like about the mower is the amount of plastic parts. The hood mainly is built out of plastic, and I have had to repair it a few times since I bought the mower. Overall I would give the mower 4 out of 5 stars. I think if they had made the hood out of Fiberglass or steel instead, I would give it 5 out of 5. I would recommend buying this, as I haven't had any other problems with it.
