troy-bilt model series 77T 42"

by Jim Dauphine
(Meridian, MS)

The price of this machine was good, but nothing else about it was. The steering mechanisms are badly designed and the parts holding it together wear out and need replacement within 2-3 years. The drive belt has been a constant problem (wears out quickly if your yard isn't flat)and I have constantly had problems starting the engine. I have had too many trips to the repair man to review this machine positively. Perhaps mine was just a lemon, but I certainly had a bad experience with it.

Troy Bilt Transmission, poor quality all the way around
by: Anonymous

In have the same problems, this machine is as poor of a lawnmower as there is. I will never ever purchase a Troy Bilt lawnmower again. I will refuse one if it is given to me. I would advise against purchasing any troy bilt of any kind. I also have a troy bilt weed eater, nothing good to say about it. I contacted the manufacture and they will do nothing. The manufacture does not stand by this or any of their other models because they know it is not quality. If you wish to save yourself some troubles and many trips to the repair man, DO NOT buy a Troy Bilt anything.
