Weed Eater 300 Series Lawn Mower

by Matthew
(Stillwater, OK)

I recently bought this mower at Wal-mart on fall clearance. Man what a deal. It was under 100 bucks, and it came with oil. It was real easy to get it ready to mow, I just unfolded the handle and tightened 2 bolts. After adding the included oil and my own gas, we were off and going. Prime 3 times, and it starts on the first pull.

Just looking at the mower, you would think it was junk and worthless. It has tiny little motor. Don't let that fool you. I had a big 6HP bagger mower before this, and it took almost 2 tanks of gas to mow my yard. This mower uses less than one tank. And the motor is plenty powerful. I hate to mow the lawn, so it gets very tall. The little guy pushed through it with ease. This mower is QUIET too! You can actually hear the blade cutting the grass.

It isn't all good though. This is actually my second one of this model. The first one sputtered a lot. It ran well, but it took three or so pulls to start it. I traded it out at Wal-mart and that fixed the problem. The only thing I noticed about this model was the rear wheels are crooked. I just grabbed them and bent the bracket straight. Not sure what happened there, but it isn't a big thing for me.

If you have a regular size "city" yard like I do, I would highly recommend this mower.

Anybody know where a grass catcher can be bought for this mower? I hate raking up afterwards.

Grass Catcher For This Mower
by: RAR

Anybody know where somebody can find a grass cather for this mower. I really like this mower but HATE raking up the clippings afterwards. Being able to capture the clippings would save me so much time!

Thanks.

get what you pay for

It does the job. But if you use a cheap gas with a lot of ethanol (12%) then it quickly degrades the diaphram in the carborator. I had to replace 2 times so far since I bought it 15 months ago. Just a $6 part, but a half hour of labor.

This mower sucks. Bought it new and used it three times. It won't run now. There is air getting into somewhere. You can tell when you prime it. I should have known better.

Great!
by: Meredith

Hubby bought this at Wal Mart - I wasn't too thrilled with a reconditioned lightweight mower, but I have since eaten my words several times over. This mower is dependable and easy to use, and I highly recommend it. I only wish it had come with a manual, as we know nothing about how to maintain it!

I purchased this lawnmower at Walmart, placed the entire box in my trunk. The lawnmower was completely assembled, unfold the handle, tighten, add oil/gas, push the primer 3 times (as clearly instructed) pull and I was ready to cut. My yard looks great. This lawnmower cuts very well. I have an average sized yard. I am very pleased with my purchase. The price is great!
