Yard machine 680 by mtd

I bought a used Yard Machine for around $350, and couldn't be happier about it. It is easy to use, fast, and a joy to drive. Judging from the original design it was and is easy to maintain. The oil reservoir is conveniently located on the side and takes standard tools to change. There isn't much to maintain on this tractor besides the oil and keeping it clean. The carburetor air filter does need cleaning out from time to time ( usually once per season.)
It's 38" deck handles my .25 acre very well and cuts the grass low enough that I don't have to mow very often. It's got 13 hp and doesn't have any trouble with my yard. The large back tires make it easy to handle the small hills and it is a well balanced machine that doesn't tip easily. The seat is still comfortable and easily removed for cleaning.
My only complaint is the need to charge the battery often (which probably has more to do with the age of the mower than anything else). Fortunately for me all the parts are available online and you can easily download a user's guide with a parts blow up and detailed parts list. Just about everything on it is user replaceable.
This thing runs amazingly well for it's age and judging from how this runs I would buy a new Yard Machine if this one would ever die. If your looking for a good used riding lawnmower I can definitely recommend this one.
