Cub Cadet AGS 2140 Ricing Mower

had this tractor for 14 years and have had nothing but the normal maintenance (oil changes, batteries and deck belts) in the way of expenses. I've beaten it up pretty well and it's one tough little machine. Even pulled my old s-10 out out of the yard (flat ground) when the battery on it died. It's paid for itself many times over. Love the fact that it has a drive shaft as opposed to a belt.

I'd like to get a new one, but I can't seem to kill this one.

Yes these are good machines. However, the clutch assembly has a tendancy to go out in them. Only in the forward gears. No, this is not a hydro as many would think. What happens, when people pull something fairly heavy,(Yard roller)they feather the forward pedal and this allows the clutchs to slip which in turn they go out and obviously its only in the forward, not the reverse. Unless you do alot of work in reverse. LOL

New of one myself
by: Anonymous

I recently became the owner of one of these AGS2140's myself. My dad had it for years and bought a new cubcadet zero turn several years back. I just bought a house and took this one over. Too bad hes let it sit outide in the back yard for years. Now I just have to get it running, but it was always a good tractor, hope it still is.
