Troy-Bilt 22-HP V-Twin Hydrostatic 50" Cut Mustang Zero-Turn Radius Mower


I love this lawn mover, it is most definitely the best lawn mower that I have ever owned. This is the first Troy-Bilt that I have owned, and it is superior to the John Deere lawn mowers that I previously owned.


I always had to fix my John Deere lawn mowers constantly, with this Troy Bilt I haven't had to repair it yet, and I have owned it for nearly seven months.

It was very expensive to buy this lawn mower though, it cost me nearly three thousand dollars, but it was most definitely worth it. This mower is one of those that has the two handles for steering as opposed to a steering wheel, the two handles are far easier to use once you get used to it.

Ever since I purchased this lawn mower, I have shaved at least thirty minutes off of the time it takes me to mow the lawn with my old mowers.

It also has the zero turn feature, which enables you to turn without moving forwards or backwards, which is great for me and the shape of my lawn. In my opinion, this is the best and fastest mower that a man can ask for, but I let my neighbor use it one time and he actually didn't like it, I don't know why, but maybe it is just because he has a funny shaped lawn.

Well, this is my favorite lawn mower of all time, and I would recommend buying one if you can afford it, remember the name, Troy-Bilt 22-HP V-Twin Hydrostatic 50" Cut Mustang Zero-Turn Radius Mower.

I bought a John Deere to replace the Deere I have had for the last 10 years....went to our local Lowes and they did not have any of the Troy bilt 50 zero turns....I was sadden so I bought the Deere...was not happy with the new mower...so I started calling all the Lowes in my area....found one across town...loaded my Deere on the trailer and went after it...got it home cut the Yard...and love it...glad I took the time to find one...

I have been looking for the right zero radius lawn mower for the past month. After a month of research, I finally decided that the Troy Built Mustang (50" deck) was the perfect choice.

So last Friday I went to (4) Lowes Home Improvement stores here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast (to purchase one), only to be told that each store was allocated 3/each, and were "SOLD-OUT"! But the associates (at all 4-stores) told me that a shipment was scheduled for this week.

The Lowes (off of Hwy. 49, Gulfport, MS. and also the closest to my residence), told me (on Friday) to leave my contact information with them at the customer service counter and they would call me when my mower arrived.

NOW FOR THE GOOD PART...I decided to stop by the Gulfport, MS. Lowes this afternoon to check on the status of my mower. I was "shocked" when a female lawn & garden specialist "looked at me like I was crazy" and said (with a "chuckle", none the less) "Honey, this mower, as well as all of the Husqvarna's have been recalled"! She even went on to say that even if they were to receive a shipment (which she stated they were not) from Troy Built, they would not be allowed to sell them anyway!

Following my inquiry as to what was wrong with them, she replied..."The Kohler motors"! Now, I don't know what, when, how, or why I was lied to, but did feel compelled to share my story with anyone looking to purchase one of these Troy Built Mustangs, (from Lowes), in an effort to save someone else a month of their time, and not waste it as I have.

And for those of you that may still be looking, I have made the decision to purchase the TORO 50" SS5000 Timecutter, which BTW, has the best motor on a mid-level mower, which happens to be the Kawasaki, and only lists for 100 bucks more, not to mention you can actually buy these because they were not (secretly) recalled!

The best money I ever spent in my life was on my Troy Built Mustang zero turn. It cut my mowing time in half. I went from 3 hours mowing to 1 1/2 hours and I love it. I tell people that mowing my yard is just like sitting in my recliner, no effort at all.

Not only did this mower cut my mowing time in half it also cut down on my weed eating because I can get so close and all around my trees and numerous flower beds. It has numerous safety features and I can even change the oil myself.

I am a 67 year old female and have been mowing a long time and love this lawn mower.
